Portsmouth Field Gunners Association

Welcome to the Portsmouth Field Gun Association official web site...

Since the sad demise of Command Field Gun and the Royal Tournament in 1999, we have provided a platform for ex-Portsmouth Field Gunners and their supporters to keep in touch with one  another and attend social activities. We are dedicated to keeping the brotherhood of all ex-field gunners and the Inter Command Field Gun Competition alive through video, pictures, runs ashore and reunions.
We trust you will find our web site interesting and informative. To aid this, we have included some links to past video footage which will give you a feel for what Command Field Gun was all about.
The 'meat' of the site is hidden behind the crew photos on the 'Crews' page. Click on a crew to reveal the images. These pages are for PFGA Members and therefore password protected.
Please enjoy our site and thank you for visiting.

In a nutshell...

"It is something to be striven for by months of arduous toil; there are plenty of men in the Navy who think disablement or death itself no outrageous price to pay for the credit of an evolution performed in record time. It is an old spirit, and a fine one. If it can be turned into the channel of emulation in straight shooting it will increase the strength of our Navy tenfold."
